So why do I recommend yoga? (The reasons are numerous & certain reasons might appeal to some people more than others!)
Whatever your reason, yoga can be an instrument for you helping you to achieve what you set out for, and more. To understand what yoga is all about you need to experience it for yourself My role as your yoga teacher will involve much more then simply demonstrating postures, breathing techniques and correcting you as a student. Exercise, breathing, relaxation, diet, meditation and positive thinking - there are many ways to address all these areas in order to educate my students (and myself :) whilst at the same time remembering yoga isnt supposed to be heavy-going and overly serious. Its fun: it makes you feel good.
- increases our flexibility, stamina, strength and levels of energy - massages all organs of the body, lowers fat - improves concantration, balance, circulation - improves the condition of our skin, eyes and hair - completely detoxifies us - teaches us to relax and reduces stress in our life - brings our minds and thoughts under control (no limit to what we can do) - yoga poses demand that we stay fully focused on what is happening in the body as we stretch into the posture. In this way the poses help us reach a deeper level of personal awareness - we become more attuned to our moment to moment experience - we reach a state of inner peace, which the swamis describe as our "true nature"
